Sorry to interrupt, but I would like to remind you that the deadline for entering the 2013 Nikon Small World competition is approaching. Once again, the Nikon Small World competition will include videos in a separately judged contest entitled “Small World in Motion”. Contestants can enter each contest separately using their web browsers.
Entries for the still digital image Small World contest can be uploaded through a web browser directly to the MicroscopyU servers at the following URL:

Entries for Small World in Motion can also be uploaded through a web browser directly to the MicroscopyU servers at the following URL:

The deadline is Tuesday, April 30th, 2013. There is no "upper" size limit. You may also email entries directly to me.
Each contestant will receive a 2014 Small World Calendar in November, compliments of Nikon.
A note about the contest: Each year, exhibits containing the winning entries are displayed at museums and science centers throughout the U.S. and Canada. In the past, many of these images have proceeded to grace the covers of scientific and industrial publications and journals. A stunning full-color calendar featuring all twenty Nikon Small World winning images and honorable mentions is also produced and distributed to all of the contestants. The first place winner receives a selection of Nikon products and equipment worth $3,000.
