This Week: Zootropolis & NT Live Encore: The Audience

We're coming up to our last few weeks of screenings, and this week we've got Disney's Zootropolis (or Zootopia, if you're anywhere but in the UK... thanks, Disney), as well as our Encore of the National Theatre Live performance of The Audience. Both are phenomenal and well worth seeing... so you should definitely come along! Bear in mind that Zootropolis has moved to Friday to accomodate our showing of The Audience, and that that showing of Zootropolis is in 3D, using our active-shutter Xpand3D glasses, and not the silly RealD stuff you get at most chains.

Want to try your hand at running a cinema? Come along to one of our regular screenings (yes, the ones listed below) about 45 minutes before the times listed below, and head into the Concert Hall - we'll be there, just come and say hi!

The usual reminder: if you plan on coming to more than 3 showings, then our Discount Pass is worth it, even in the last term of the year! Buy it online and save money on your tickets (£3 instead of £4, first ticket is free, sadly no discount on NT Live performances).

We also have our Season Ticket on sale, so if this lineup tickles your fancy, why not go for that?

Zootropolis

Friday 10th June @ 18:30 - 3D Showing

In the animal city of Zootopia, a fast-talking fox who's trying to make it big goes on the run when he's framed for a crime he didn't commit. Zootopia's top cop, a self-righteous rabbit, is hot on his tail, but when both become targets of a conspiracy, they're forced to team up and discover even natural enemies can become best friends.

National Theatre Live: The Audience

Thursday 9th June @ 19:00 - NT Live Encore
£5 Concessions / £10 Adult

For sixty years Elizabeth II has met each of her twelve Prime Ministers in a weekly audience at Buckingham Palace – a meeting like no other in British public life – it is private. Both parties have an unspoken agreement never to repeat what is said. Not even to their spouses. The Audience breaks this contract of silence – and imagines a series of pivotal meetings between the Downing Street incumbents and their Queen. From Churchill to Cameron, each Prime Minister has used these private conversations as a sounding board and a confessional – sometimes intimate, sometimes explosive.

Eddie the Eagle

Tuesday 14th June @ 18:30
Thursday 16th June @ 18:30
£3 with Discount Pass / £4 without

Inspired by true events, Eddie the Eagle is a feel-good story about Michael "Eddie" Edwards (Taron Egerton), an unlikely but courageous British ski-jumper who never stopped believing in himself - even as an entire nation was counting him out. With the help of a rebellious and charismatic coach (played by Hugh Jackman), Eddie takes on the establishment and wins the hearts of sports fans around the world by making an improbable and historic showing at the 1988 Calgary Winter Olympics.
