Hey guys, Next week we have Cold Mountain and House of Sand and Fog for your viewing pleasure. The following week we have a zombie fest of Shaun of the Dead and Dawn of the Dead. After that we have Starsky & Hutch and 50 First Dates. Then we have the All-Nighter. The All-Nighter will be Tuesday 22nd of June where we will be showing (Kill Bill Vol. 2, Van Helsing, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Secret Window, Taking Lives and Station Agent). Cold Mountain is the story of a wounded soldier's perilous journey back to his sweet heart towards the end of the American Civil War. This stars Jude Law, Nicole Kidman and Renée Zellweger. Showing Tuesday 18:00 and Thursday 20:45. House of Sand and Fog is the story of a woman who looses her home due to a government error. She has to battle the new owners for it's return. Stars Jennifer Connelly and Ben Kingsley. Showing Tuesday 21:15 and Thursday 18:00. Hey all, Just a quick reminder that this Saturday we are showing the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The box office opens at 13:45 and the first film starts at 14:00 and the last film will finish around 00:40. Tickets will cost £7 before the first film, £5 before the second film and £3 before the third film. There will be an intermission about half way through each film (toilet break and a chance to top-up the drink at the bar). This is an excellent way to recover from the Summer Ball (not too early, and not too taxing). I suggest you bring a pillow (to sit on if nothing else!) If you can't make Saturday or are only interested in watching Return of the King we will be showing it again on Tuesday and Thursday at 18:00. Desperate for work, he impersonates a substitute teacher and turns a class of fifth grade high-achievers into high-voltage rock and rollers. American Splendor: Harvey Pekar is file clerk at the local VA hospital. His interactions with his co-workers offer some relief from the monotony, and their discussions encompass everything from music to the decline of American culture to new flavors of jellybeans and life itself. At home, Harvey fills his days with reading, writing and listening to jazz. Harvey meets Robert Crumb, a greeting card artist and music enthusiast. When, years later, Crumb finds international success for his underground comics, the idea that comic books can be a valid art form for adults inspires Harvey to write his own brand of comic book. An admirer of naturalist writers like Theodore Dreiser, Harvey makes his American Splendor a truthful, unsentimental record of his working-class life, a warts-and-all self portrait. First published in 1976, the comic earns Harvey cult fame throughout the 1980s and eventually leads him to the sardonic Joyce Barber, a partner in a Delaware comic book store who end ups being Harvey's true soul mate as they experience the bizarre byproducts of Harvey's cult celebrity stature.
