I have tried this database, and it appears very useful!
From: denonne@chor.ucl.ac.be (Frederic Denonne) Subject: The ChemExper Chemicals Directory
With this article, we would like to introduce you with a concept regarding chemical information: a free searchable chemicals catalog on the Web. How does it work ? Using a Web browser, like Netscape (R), you connect to our server at the following URL:
Right there, you are prompted to search for a defined chemical. There are currently three ways to search for a chemical: by formula, by name or by CAS registry number. (A sub-structure search engin will be included next year)
Click on the submit button and within 5 minutes (most searches take less than 1 minute) you obtain the result of your search as a list of hypertext links of products matching your query.
Clik on a link and info on that product appears. This info usually contain physical data as well as safety information, 2D structure and for some products, NMR spectrum. And this is entirely free! Moreover, if you find that we don't have info for a defined chemical (only 10,000 compounds currently), you can send it to us and we will include it in our database mentionning your name (as a hyperlink for example). Any kind of info can be included (3D structures, Ms/IR/NMR spectra, ...) Please contact us to define a common format.
If you are a company, you can put your catalog in this database and we will provide a link to your page so as to allow direct on line ordering for clients. In this case only, you'll have to pay a fee for this kind of advertising.
