Hi, Septemebr's Molecule of the Month is 'ubiquitin', which is an important protein that is found in the cells of plants and animals, including humans. Its main role is to label for degradation unwanted proteins in the body, such as those which have been damaged by use or which are too old. This MOTM has been written by Lukasz and Mariusz Jaremko from Wroclaw University in Poland, and is the first Polish MOTM.
