I am developing a freeware database of chemical structures for use in schools teaching International Baccalaureate. The program ties together some information relating to the medicines and drugs IB Chemistry option. I'm using the Accelrys 3D viewer VB .ocx control, which is acts as an enhanced Rasmol, but I cannot find a freely available 2D chemical structure .ocx control. Can anyone advise?
Hi Keith, neither of these are .ocx controls, but may suit your needs... download the structure drawing applet (v1.3) at http://www.acdlabs.com/download/sda.html free for home and educational use. have a look at the JChemPaint project at sourceforge... http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=10084 I have used the jcpapplet-1_0pre2.zip version for displaying 2D molfiles quite successfully.
