Re:
"You are not allowed to send mail to the internet! Received: from mail.bid.de by gatekeeper.bid.de with smtp "
The easiest way for me to stop the flood is to change to majordomo as a listserver. Here, errors do go to the moderator rather than to the list. As far as you folks are concerned, the only difference is a) messages to subscribe (or as a few have done as a result of the error message, unsubscribe) must be sent to majordomo@ic.ac.uk rather than listserver b) Some of the other syntax to control the list changes c) The archive will also change to http://www.lists.ic.ac.uk/hypermail/chemweb/
This can probably be accomplished tomorrow by Jason. Unfortunately, I will be out all day, so cannot monitor the process.
The chemweb list, based at Imperial College, has now been converted to use the majordomo list management software as a moderated (all messages will be vetted by Henry Rzepa before they are sent to the list). I would hope these restrictions will be relaxed in a few days once the dust has settled. Since Henry is out of the office today, I shall also act as moderator so that legitimate discussion on the list is not delayed. If you still wish to leave the list, please send a message containing the following body: unsubscribe chemweb to: majordomo@ic.ac.uk Sending a message to listserver@ic.ac.uk will NOT remove your address from the mailing list. As Henry has mentioned, the list archives have now moved to: http://www.lists.ic.ac.uk/hypermail/chemweb/ Please accept our apologies for this problem.
