SPC is a format devised by http://www.galactic.com/galactic/Data/spcfile.htm for spectral and chromatographic data. We have written the first version of a Java Applet called jSPEC for viewing such files; http://www.ch.ic.ac.uk/java/applets/jspec/spectra/ If anyone has analytical data in "simple" SPC format that they might wish to test with out viewer, do please contact us. If you are in a commercial organisation, perhaps http://155.198.2.33/java/applets/jspec/spectra/ might work better. I also note with interest the "spectral challenge" pages http://www.galactic.com/galactic/Data/unknown.htm A nice complement to the "molecule of the month" pages. Has anyone found these challenges interesting from the point of view of unleashing undergraduate/postgraduate students onto them? I wonder if stuff like http://www2.ccc.uni-erlangen.de/IR/ might be able to solve these problems automatically!! If you have not visited Paul Selzer's page, I highly recommend it!
