Have you ever checked by yourself if you were spammed by Yahoo ? Setup an email address for yahoo which you only use for receiving mail from yahoogroups. If you get spam with that address you can say Yahoo spammed you. But do not use it for sending, otherwise your address is on other people's computer and every virus can get this address and distribute it everywhere. There are so easy solutions to the cookies problem: cookie culler with firefox, e.g.
