Discovered to my horror that the article was published without its abstract. Don’t ask me why Springer’s production people removed it. OK I should have noticed at galley proof stage but someone here checked the proof and didn’t tell
me – thought that the abstract was handled separately. Nothing I can do at this stage. Will send the abstract to CAS in the hope that they can at least put it in SciFinder.
Abstract
Rigorously documented and managed chemistry data would enable more reliable validation of results; re-examination
of research; advances in science; increased efficiency; application across domains; and improved reporting, storing, discoverability, and sharing of research outputs. Some global initiatives in the field of research data management are summarized in the first
part of this article. After that, some specific examples of data reuse are discussed, including various projects on sharing of datasets among
pharmaceutical companies.

Subject: Article on data sharing
I have just had a message from Springer Nature saying that I may share a link
http://rdcu.be/nb6u to my latest article in J. Comput.-Aided Mol. Des. This list may be interested since the article is on data sharing, and relates to recent ACS CINF and COMP symposia. This is ReadCube technology and unfortunately the link will
not work in Firefox, but I just read it OK in IE. I applaud this Springer Nature SharedIt initiative, and it seems particularly appropriate to share this particular article.
